This new book is designed as a core study book in Geomicrobiology for upper undergraduate/graduate students in Earth and Life sciences. The task of writing a geomicrobiology study book is extremely challenging due to the interdisciplinary nature of this field and the speed at which both Life and Earth sciences are currently developing. As a geomicrobiologist with Earth rather than Life science background, Konhauser managed this task by placing emphasis throughout the book on the modes by which microorganisms drive geological processes, focusing on how the geosphere is impacted by microbial processes.
