This new volume of the Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry Series, appropriately dedicated to the late Jim Jorgensen, and carefully edited by Hans-Rudolf Wenk, is a welcome and timely additon to this renowned reference book series, and it meets the high standards set by the previous volumes.
The 17 chapters of the volume adequately cover the various aspects of neutron scattering, starting from the basics (chapters 1, 2), and encompassing all traditional applications of interest in the Earth Sciences including diffraction and crystal structural studies (chapters 36), kinetics and phase transitions (chapters 78), high-pressure studies (chapter 9), and inelastic scattering (chapter 10). In addition, the volume also . . . [Full Text of this Article]
