This volume aims to (and does) summarize the main aspects of the occurrence and impact of metals in the environment. Chapters are: Geochemistry in ecosystem analysis of heavy metals pollution; Sources and origins of metals; Heavy metal mobility/immobility in environmental media; Pathways, cycles, bioaccumulation, impact on ecosystems; Contaminant/natural background values: timing and processes; Indicator media of environmental health status; Analysis of indicator media: samples/protocols; Remediation/alleviation of metal(s)-contaminated media; Decision making for environmental sustainability.

What I like about this book is that all aspects of the environmental behaviour of metals appear to be covered. Offhand, I cannot think of another readily available book that covers not only the occurrence and behaviour of metals in the environment, but also the various aspects of sampling metals and the remediation . . .
