Partitioning of elements in sector-zoned clinopyroxenes

B. B. Jensen*

Mineralogical-Geological Museum, Sars Gate 1, N-0562 Oslo 5, Norway

* E-mail: brendab{at}sensewave.com

Detailed chemical analyses of different portions of laboratory-grown sector-zoned clinopyroxene have been provided by Skulski et al. (1994). These data have been plotted here in PC-IR diagrams and the results indicate equilibrium crystallization and protosite control of element selection.

KEYWORDS: sector-zoned, clinopyroxene, PC-IR plots, protosite control
